Adapt @ Your Library - Androids Comes to LYF

http://www.philipkdick.com/works_novels_androids.html
After a successful inaugural program month in February, we are excited to kick off our second month of the Adaptation Festival at the Fernley Branch Library!  This month we are reading Philp K. Dick's, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?  This classic novel in the Science Fiction genre was adapted to the 1982 Ridley Scott Film, Blade Runner, starring Harrison Ford.

Androids is set in the, now--not so far off, distant future year of 2021.  It features a text-book dystopian civilization that is constantly at odds between human and mechanical reality. Click here to visit the author's website for more information about the book.

We have copies available for those who wish to read this exciting novel.  Come join us on Friday, March 25 to  discuss what you thought of the story.  The book talk will be hosted at 2:30 p.m. at the Fernley Library.  Tuesday, March 29 at 2:30 p.m. join us at the library to watch Blade Runner, and stick around after to discuss what you thought about the film and the book it was adapted from.

We will be offering three more exciting adapted titles in future months for this program (see the list below).  Contact the Fernley Library for more information (775) 575-3366 or stop in to pick up your copy of the book today. We are located at 575 Silver Lace Blvd, Fernley, NV 89408 next door to City Hall.  This program has been made available to our community thanks in part to a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Nevada State Library and Archives (NSLA).

Upcoming Adaptation Festival Titles:
April:  The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
May:  Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote
June:  To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
